Gotta Keep Movin'
Mood:  bright
Now Playing: Day 2938-Chapter 3... Happiness~My Silver Lining

You know what they say...

You gotta keep movin'

I can not say enough amazing benefits that comes with exercise! Even a brisk walk has more health benefits than most folks could even comprehend.

The extension amount of blood work performed by one of my new specialists is slowly coming back from the lab. Some reports haven't been too shocking to say the least. Then of course there are other lab reports that have taken me back a bit. I now really wonder if some of my specialists back across state lines in Ohio, really did just give up on my unique medical case. Not really taking the time or wanting to take the time to go above and beyond anymore after oncology treatments failed to provide a cure. I really question just how much lack of care or being brushed off really was happening a year after being released from my original team of oncologists. Some tests that have been recently performed could had really provided some in-depth insight, even possibly explaining some of my symptoms. At least now my new specialists have further medical information with regards to seeking means to help manage some of my symptoms. Importantly... helping to manage my over all care.

If one really let things like this get to themselves. One could easily be an anxiety filled, emotional mess of sorts. No thanks! I like my mind to be as clear and stress-free as possible!

This month has been one of the busiest yet for myself, Eric and our entire little family. Mad~dash scrambling to stay on top of everything! So many changes quickly heading our way or changes that have already quickly occurred over the past few weeks. Some good... some pretty darn, pathetically sad. Thank goodness that the good lord chose me to be a fur parent to all of his creatures, both big and small. I would never want to raise a child in today's society.

Fitness... it has been and always will be a huge passion of mine. Keeping the blood flowing also helps clear your mind. Another positive benefit that comes with fitness! How amazing to feel the wind against my face and my legs moving again towards a better tomorrow.

A healthier tomorrow!  Amen.

What's Not To LOVE About These Two! :)
Mood:  cheeky
Now Playing: Day 2937-Chapter 3... Happiness~My Silver Lining

These two!  I tell ya!

What is there not to love about these two! Hehehehehe!

Poor Eric... over the past few days he had more than his hands full with our fur children! A rambunctious group of fur children who are missing out on outdoor fun due to the ever changing, crazy weather we have been having here in the country. Forget this warm, cold, warm, cold nonsense! I would much rather see us have a blizzard than mother nature sharing a sneak peek of far-too-early spring weather. Pfffff!

As for myself... it's been a past few days of just taking it easy as my body gets adjusted to another new round of antibiotics. It's no wonder that I have another few more pounds to add to the existing pounds to gain back once I am finally off of all the various rounds of antibiotics. But no worries... at least I am keeping myself busy with watching Eric attempt to keep up with both high energy Snoreo and Babyblue. Hehehehehehe! Even right down to watching Babyblue literally stick her head into the very first Happy Meal treat for being such a good puppy while enduring her last round of vaccines. Okay... so maybe she didn't get to enjoy the entire Happy Meal. But she sure was cute as a button while watching her try to figure out the tiny toy inside the big red box! Hehehehehehe!

We have been doing our best to keep it healthy here around the house. Picking up another stash of super healthy, organic beverages for me and a little something for Babyblue for being really good for our veterinarian while Mommy was home resting? Super nice & SUPER SWEET of her human Daddy!

You know... there really is EVERYTHING to love about these two!

A Snowman Tragedy Of Sorts! ;)
Mood:  d'oh
Now Playing: Day 2936-Chapter 3... Happiness~My Silver Lining

This is what happens when we receive a day of sunshine and much warmer temperatures...

An unexpected snowman tragedy of sorts... hehehehehe!

So much for grabbing my morning cup of decaf coffee and finding our miniature snowman looking back at me through the kitchen window. Ok... it is a bit funny! Hehehehehe! Babyblue puppy actually found our miniature snowman laying in multiple snowflake pieces below the kitchen window sill as she began eating what used to be his arm. Hehehehehehe! I guess we will just have to wait until our next big snowfall before bringing him back to life again! Wink

Yesterday evening we literally had a record number of visitors in our backyard. Seems the 'buck' is out (did I just make a funny) on where to find all sorts of treats and plenty of water for visiting deer and their friends and their friends and well... you get the point! Or maybe... the antler? Hahahahaha! I wish we had some sort of night vision camera to take photos when seeing over 30 deer last night! I had to do a double take while checking to see if the wash was done in the basement. One look outside towards our homemade feeding station left me literally shocked on how many deer were staring back at me!

Eric couldn't believe how many deer were gathered around eating and not fighting one another for food or water. They are definitely used to us! And just to think that some folks go to Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee just to possibly catch a glimpse or two of all the deer. Not us... we just look out our window or open the door. Animals know who they can or can not trust. Eric said, the next thing I will be feeding later this year are either the desert snakes or scorpions that come to visit us at our new home out west. Hahahahaha! Hey, someone has to also feed them! Right? Ummmm... yea... r-i-g-h-t! Undecided

Meanwhile... as the sun and warm temperatures continue to quickly melt away all of the beautiful snow... it's time to think fast on ways to keep the fur gang busy indoors! It is far too muddy to be outdoors at our local dog park and various walking trails to help release their energy. Huskies in general demand a lot of play time! Even Snoreo has a lot of energy being a German shepherd-Siberian husky mix! We keep a huge plastic tote filled with lots of various toys for days like today when we can't take them outdoors. Along with being their human mommies taste testers while cooking dinner. Hehehehehe! Too cute! We did have a fenced in backyard. But it had to come down last summer due to the foundation shifting and pulling on the fence posts. This area is just not the place to own a house. Nor is it the place to build any new home. The 7+ acres of open land across the street from us still has yet to sell. Good luck with that to anyone who isn't smart enough to realize that farm land and shifting limestone doesn't make for anything stable to build upon! Hopefully it won't sell until later this summer.

By then we will be on our way, heading across the open road... west bound to the great state of Nevada.

Chapter 3... Happiness~My Silver Lining
Sharing my journey with others in hopes of inspiring the great fight for life!

erickimberly2014xmasp2.jpg

The realization that you are in a pretty dark place in your life is never easy. But, that realization is the very first step to lifting yourself out of it. My saving grace is going to come from multiple methods. Be it finding new connections with other brave souls also realizing their dreams, taking up new hobbies, small weekend trips traveling during my good days and self reflecting on what I can change during my bad days. Maybe this next phase in my life might include learning a new language, a new exercise routine, or realizing a huge passion of mine which includes opening up an animal sanctuary.

When I unwillingly landed in a place such as where I stand now at this point in my life, now looking back in hindsight, that bright light that always helped me out, was my silver lining.

I See... A REALLY GOOD LIFE!
Mood:  lucky
Now Playing: Day 2935-Chapter 3... Happiness~My Silver Lining

Boy... do I feel on FIRE so early in the first month of this new year! I have accomplished beyond any of my expectations in such a short amount of time! Needless to say... I am very proud of... ME!

There aren't enough words to describe waking up to the sounds of a far-too-early cell phone alarm and seeing this little cutie sleeping soundly in her huge crate. Absolutely, ADORABLE! It's just unreal seeing all of Babyblues super close resemblances to our beloved Littleblue! Even right down to this photo of Littleblue and her buddy Cuddles kitty napping away one lazy afternoon during last years winter season. Do you believe in reincarnation? If I wasn't a believer before... I most certainly am a believer now! Babyblue & Littleblue are the ultimate reincarnated twins! I have never smiled so much in such a short amount of time!

LOVE~LOVE~LOVE

This morning marked the start of a very long day, one doctors appointment after another. Two post-surgical follow-up appointments and one long phone call with my oncologist. My appointments are never quick and to the point. They are always long and mentally draining. But lately things are finally starting to look promising! Skin lesions and the surrounding areas are finally starting to heal a bit more quickly. Maybe another round of antibiotics, against my liking, was actually just what my immune system needed! A little extra help! Myself and Eric weren't expecting another round of labs this morning. But it's a good thing that I have learned to fast 8-hours before any specialists appointment. Just in case they need to draw blood and this way I won't have to come back the following day. Several more vials of blood taken this morning after another new specialist noticed more than a few tests that had yet to be performed by a few specialists back in Ohio. Actually, it was the very first time that both of my appointments meant hearing a few comments with regards to lack of follow up, necessary lab work. One even made a comment that really struck a cord with myself and Eric, "These specialists back in Ohio sure have no problem repeating the same tests and labs. But why are they not checking into other avenues that might not be normal labs to order. However, it could provide a great deal more information to help with your unique medical case." Even so much as a head shake and chuckle of sorts after making the comment. Although, the first specialist wasn't the last specialist of the day to make a very similar comment regarding what they really wanted to say in a nutshell... what I had been feeling for quite awhile now. Feeling as if some of my specialists back in Ohio have already given up hope for me. Maybe it was my no-worries attitude of sorts that really struck a cord with both specialists whom are both now my surgeons. Including my new oncologist who has really went above and beyond over the past few months. Looking for new experimental treatment opportunities that could possibly provide me additional relief, even possibly... a cure.

"There is always a silver lining."

Today wasn't like it usually has been with appointments back in Ohio. Today's appointments were powerfully, enlightening of many sorts! It was nice to once again, see that ray of hope from both surgeons. To actually hear on the phone from my new oncologist, that wanting to get back to work, isn't an unrealistic expectation. To hold onto hope and turn my dreams into reality isn't far fetched. I just needed to get out of my rut. Eliminate all the negativity. Now I not only have the ability to see more clearly. But I can now actually see all the possibilities that lie ahead of me for the remainder of this gal's lifetime.

You know what I see?

I see a REALLY GOOD LIFE ahead of little ole ME!

Don't Worry, Be Happy

Here's a little song I wrote
You might want to sing it note for note
Don't worry, be happy
In every life we have some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy now

Ooh
Don't worry
Ooh
Be happy
Ooh
Don't worry, be happy

Ain't got no place to lay your head
Somebody came and took your bed
Don't worry, be happy
The landlord say your rent is late
He may have to litigate
Don't worry, be happy
Look at me, I'm happy

Ooh
Don't worry
Ooh
Be happy
Ooh
Don't worry, be happy

Give you my phone number
When you worry, call me, I make you happy

Ooh
Don't worry
Ooh
Be happy
Ooh
Don't worry, be happy

Ain't got no cash, ain't got no style
Ain't got no girl to make you smile
But don't worry, be happy
'Cause when you worry, your face will frown
And that will bring everybody down
So don't worry, be happy
Don't worry, be happy now

Ooh
Don't worry
Ooh
Be happy
Ooh
Don't worry, be happy

Now there, is this song I wrote
I hope you learned it note for note
Like good little children
Don't worry, be happy
Listen to what I say
In your life expect some trouble
When you worry you make it double
Don't worry, be happy, be happy now

Ooh
Don't worry
Ooh
Be happy
Ooh
Don't worry, be happy

Ooh
Don't worry
Ooh
Be happy
Ooh
Don't worry, be happy

Tis A GOOD Day To BAKE! :)
Mood:  on fire
Now Playing: Day 2934-Chapter 3... Happiness~My Silver Lining

Tomorrow it's back to the surgeons office. Both surgeons offices. Time to receive a first and second of both surgical re-checks. I have been on far-too-many rounds of antibiotics for my liking. Far too many stomach aches and the inability to consume much of anything while still remaining on antibiotics. Literally forcing protein shake after protein shake. Hopefully at least keeping me on various antibiotics over the past few weeks will pay off as far as a much quicker healing time!

With the need to clear my mind before tomorrows appointments... tis a GREAT day to BAKE!

One thing that this gal has never made before... at least as far as I can remember... is Rice Krispy Treats~YUMMY! This is really suppose to be a self-explanatory, quick and easy recipe. Even a kid can make it! But of course, why make an easy recipe? I rather make mine with a twist!

Adding 3/4 cup of shredded coconut, melted white, mint and dark chocolate organic cocoa chips and a dash of tiny gold sprinkles! I may have to attempt this recipe a second time around after forgetting to let the melted marshmallows cool off a bit. What white, mint and dark chocolate organic cocoa chips and tiny gold sprinkles? They literally all melted into the hot marshmallows and Rice Krispies. OOPSIE! Surprised

At least they fit perfectly in the new storage containers. How appropriately themed for me! Hehehehehe! Maybe the deer would had enjoyed a few treats? Nah! Eric will most likely devour them before even standing a chance to place a few outside on the deer feeding station. Hahahahaha! I learned a great deal from a very simple recipe. Let it cool before placing any type of ingredients that will easily melt upon heat! No need to share this recipe. Yes... it is pretty much self-explanatory. Or at least it should had been for me... hahahahaha! Minus the cute deer themed storage containers. That was a Christmas gift for little ole me.

What I still have yet to accomplish is setting my sights high with my drone that I received last year, November for my birthday. At least I do far better as a drone pilot, compared to crash after crash pilot Eric. HA! This evening I was finally able to maneuver the drone around the entire basement in mid-air. Once the snow clears, it's time to take this drone outdoors in hopes of learning to take some really neat high altitude photos of life here in the country! By the end of summer, I should be ready to take this drone out west to photograph the beautiful red rock mountains and miles upon miles of endless desert... I can't wait! Smile

YAYYYY!! SNOW!!!! :)
Mood:  happy
Now Playing: Day 2933-Chapter 3... Happiness~My Silver Lining

I predicted it! So much for the weather forecast calling for a "light" dusting of snow... HA! Cool

More like... a WHOLE LOTTA SNOW!!

YAYYYYY!  SNOW!!

You know who else loves snow just as much as their human mommy? Why of course! Mr. Snoreo -aka- HUGE puppy! All 101 pounds of Mr. Snoreo! Hehehehehe! I have no idea how Eric was able to manage picking up this big baby, but regardless, he sure looks super happy!

Let's just say that both Snoreo and Babyblue had an absolute blast running and playing in the snow! They were too funny to watch rolling around and getting the snow stuck on their chins and noses! Hehehehehe! The love for snow is in their DNA... huskies! I remember when we took Snoreo and Littleblue outside to play for the very first snowfall almost a year ago to this very day. I sure do miss my beloved Littleblue. I am so thankful that Babyblue is every bit a splitting image of Littleblue. Right down to the love for snow and the inability to get her back out of the snow. Hahahahaha! Marshmallows work every time! Wink

It was all around such a beautiful picture perfect snow day here in the country. Right down to our very first miniature snowman! Hahahahaha! Too darn funny! With all the cold weather forecasted for the remainder of the week. Mr. Miniature Snowman should be able to stick around for a bit longer before slowly melting away. We placed him in the best location possible on the outside kitchen window sill. Now everyone can enjoy Mr. Miniature Snowman! Ahhhhh... the beautiful snow... LOVE-LOVE LaughingL-O-V-E!

The rest of the evening meant taking it easy with plenty of favorite DVR shows, a cup of hot chai tea and my warm heating blanket. Life doesn't get any better than this! It's the little things that mean the most. The little things that bring the biggest smile to my face!

Self~LOVE... Self~RESPECT.
Mood:  bright
Now Playing: Day 2932-Chapter 3... Happiness~My Silver Lining

Good lord! So much going on all at once. Where do I begin? I know...just b-r-e-a-t-h-e woman!

B-r-e-a-t-h-e~

There are some parts of my life, that I am still questioning on what should remain private and what shouldn't remain private. When is being brutally honest a bit... too brutally honest?

My relationship with my spouse. Far from perfect. Although... there really is no such thing as any type of perfect relationship. Not of this world. But there have been times where Eric has really blown my trust to all hell and back. Once... beyond the boundaries of trust. I believe in change. I believe that when anyone messes up and really hurts someone to the core. They have the power to do just that... change.

Yet, for over 2 year now. I am still waiting for that change from something that happened which really blew my trust. I am not so sure where the boundaries of privacy should begin and end. So for now... I will just leave things where they are between us. Ultimatums and healthy boundaries that any one would place on any type of relationship when you find yourself with broken trust. At the end of the day. Nothing is worth rehashing a billion times over when expecting some type of change. At the end of the day... when you screw up and screw up royally. Own up to your mistakes and do what it takes to change for the better.

Like I have always said time and time again... WE all can strive to be a better version of ourselves today. Than we were just yesterday or the day before or the week before or even the year before.

As far as Eric's ginormous screw up and not owning up by taking the necessary steps to change. Could... have dire consequences. We will be sitting down and having a very long heart-to-heart within the next few days. There are three ways things will either play out. There are certain things that I will no longer tolerate with anyone. Including my own spouse. I am not here to change anyone. You should want to make changes within yourself. Not because someone has to bring it to your attention. I am not anyone's parent, except for my fur children. That means I refuse to have to act like a parent, instead of a spouse. I refuse to have to constantly remind anyone to do basic, common duties when owning a home or actually with any normal adult daily chores, responsibilities, etc. Lastly, when you screw up, as an adult. When you royally screw up as a spouse or in any other type of relationship. It is your responsibility to own up and make the necessary changes to earn back the trust that has been broken. If you truly love and care about someone that you have hurt. You will take all the necessary measures to make things right. Acknowledge and then own up to your mistake(s). It shouldn't take years to do so.

This is a new year. A new chance to get it right. I refuse to settle for anything nor anyone. Life is far too short to be anything, but happy!

#Self~LOVE  #Self~RESPECT

THE NEW PODCAST-BLOGCAST... COMING SOON TO GOOGLE PLAY & THE APP STORE!
Mood:  celebratory
Now Playing: Day 2931-Chapter 3... Happiness~My Silver Lining

Why hello there!

Can you please tell me just where did the weekend go?

I feel like it's still Friday, yet here we are getting ready to start another week. GEES! I have a hunch that this year is just going to fly by! So many exciting things that will be taking place in my life. Our life. Our little families life.

Talking about our little family... here is a rare photo of the four musketeers enjoying a late breakfast before lounging away a very lazy Sunday. Too darn adorable! I am so glad that everyone is finally getting along. We knew that it might take a bit of time since Sweetie and Papa are neighborhood kitties taking shelter in our home during the cold winter months. I am certain they will be more than ready to be back outdoors this spring. They both had already been neutered and spayed as well received their vaccines through various neuter programs offered by our local shelters. So much love goes around our little, lazy, river town towards all those who are looking for food, shelter and a little love. Needless to say... of course they get more than just a little love in our household! They get a whole lotta love!

Since this gal is still on the early bird gets the worm sleep schedule. It's been a wonderful opportunity to get daily household chores and errands done super early! Same with cooking in the early afternoon hours so dinner is ready for Eric to take to work. More than a few days worth of super healthy choices such as various ways to enjoy fish and veggies! We still do our best to make sure to consume healthy foods and beverages. Regardless of any existing medical problems. It's still important to do your very best to take care of your body. I have always believed that fast food leads to a fast life. The inability to live a very long life. Food is the way of life. Consider your body a fine tune machine of sorts. Eat to live the best life possible! Not live to eat away your life in the shortest and most unhealthiest way possible. Gastroparesis or not... there are more than enough ways to find what works best for you through trial and error. Healthy options that are GI friendly! Each and every patient is truly unique. So is each and every diet. But regardless... keep it healthy! Your body will not only thank you later, but so will your soul!

Today's fish is tilapia with oriental veggies, pepper and a garlic sauce made with fat-free yogurt. Super easy to make! But most importantly... it's super healthy! YUMMY!

Over the past few weeks, we have literally been cleaning house! An old saying, but for us, we really mean it while making another trip this evening to drop off donated clothes and other gently used items. A small Mom & Pop consignment store in town that many families visit year round. With such a frigid start to the winter season. There are a lot of families that have to cut back in order to stay warm. Utility bills that have literally doubled over the past few months. We all can do something to help one another out during the remaining cold winter months. To me... there just isn't any reason what-so-ever that everyone can't pitch in and help each other out when times are tough. Together... we really can move mountains!

Myself and Eric are not quite sure which way to go as far as the Gastroparesis Awareness Campaign website. The website itself has not only surpassed any and all expectations of it's very own. But it literally provides over 100,000+ web server requests on a monthly basis. Crazy isn't it?! Another idea in the making, many years ago, after feeling as if I was battling Gastroparesis alone. Not one other Gastroparesis Awareness organization exists that solely continues to offer free help and assistance to all Gastroparesis patients, their family, friends and even health care professionals. I would really love to also evolve the website and mesh it together as one with the new podcast-blogcast. But as for now, the current home for the Gastroparesis Awareness Campaign Organization will remain.

I'm In A Really Good Place Right Now! :)
Mood:  cheeky
Now Playing: Day 2930-Chapter 3... Happiness~My Silver Lining

While the three feline supervisors are busy keeping a close eye on Eric shoveling the snow and ice... I am busy being in a really good place right now!

Not emotionally or spiritually.

Just on my couchbed with cutie patootie Babyblue by my side. Or... maybe more like... right in front of my face! Hehehehehe! Such a cutie!!

What I really think we all need right now is more beautiful, magical, most wonderful... SNOW! They are already predicting more snow for early next week. Monday can't get here soon enough! I absolutely LOVE, LOVE, L-O-V-E snow! A few friends of ours have made comments over the past few days regarding upcoming snow-less winters out west. Nah! There's plenty of mountains that will be surrounding us with a mere day drive to a high enough altitude to see all the beautiful snow! Nevada isn't just known for the dry desert. There is so much more just waiting to be explored! Plenty of photo opportunities to share which means needing to get back to learning the ropes with my drone. Without poking anyone's eyes out! Hahahahahaha! Eric's first take-off and landing of the drone...  PRICELESS!

Lately with both surgeries and the need to get lots of rest for a smooth recovery. We really haven't been doing much, but taking it easy around the house. My facial bruising and swelling is almost completely gone, thank goodness! I still have a ways to go with 3-4 months of post-operative healing that can't be seen visually on the outside of my face. But so far... I have done one hell of a job with recovery! This gal also not only endured the pain. But as well only took a mere 1/2 pill of the prescribed narcotics from both surgeries. I look at this as a really big opportunity to continue building up my anything-but-normal, high tolerance for pain. I also like to be able to feel if there is a surgical complication that I am experiencing, instead of numbing things to the point of feeling nothing at all. I wouldn't suggest going with no pain medication to most folks after any type of surgical procedure But then again... I am not like most folks.

At the end of the day. Not only am I in a really good place right now. But I have proved once again, that I really can take on the world! Well... at least parts of this world. Hehehehehehe!

My next feat?

Getting my walking back on at our local trails. I need to build some muscle back, along with some weight! Where there is a will... there will always be a way!

Some times... a silly way... but a way! Hehehehehehe!
