Now Playing: Day 859-The Final Road To Survival
We had a very nice time last night celebrating Eric's birthday a bit earlier this week. I was dragging to say the least but was still able to handle a night out on the town. By the time we got home and took the fur gang for a walk I was OUT LIKE A LIGHT! You know you got great sleep when you wake up in the same position as you fell asleep in! Hahahahaha! That makes two of us. Actually all of us. Eric also had a nice time although when you go out during the week it screws up your days with the rest of the week. Tomorrow is Saturday which means another new weekend is here but honestly it feels like yesterday was Sunday. DUH!
Since Eric's birthday falls on Sunday and we are suppose to continue this beautiful fall-like weather for the entire weekend I decided to give him his birthday gift a few days earlier. He just told me a few weeks ago that the last time he had a bike was when he was 15 years old. Far too long to have a bike so this afternoon he got a huge surprise when he saw his new mountain bike. WOOHOA! He was very happy to finally have a new bike and he even got to take it out for a ride around the neighborhood. Talking about making new memories and healthy ones to boot! I know. Now its time for me to get a new bike however with my poor spine the bike might as well be called, "Russian Roulette" and painted red for BEWARE! Hahahaha..One never knows and if I am to throw the rest of my spine out might as well have fun doing it! My specialists have all said, "Your pain tolerance is off the charts. We have no idea how you do it but some how you do." DOUBLE DITTO!
I vowed to get outside a bit through out the day to enjoy the great weather which meant playing Supervisor to Eric as he continued staining the front porch and ramp. What we both didn't realize was they had been using a stain meant for indoor wood. AHHHHHHHHHH! Are you serious?! Yep. The only relief was knowing the people in the paint department at our local Lowe's said, "Most people make the same mistake although it will still stain outdoor wood but it just won't wear as long as the specific outdoor stain." Looks like a few new gallons of "Outdoor" stain is in our near future. Like tomorrow. Hahahaha! Regardless the indoor stain is working just fine and the porch is starting to look really good and just in time before the upcoming winter weather. I am hoping to get my mask on a bit this weekend that way I can take in the perfect weather at the same time while helping out with the big staining project.
The evening was perfect and so was the walk at our local park. The geese are becoming friendlier since having a few familiar faces feeding them through out the summer. Soon enough they will all start their journey down south for the winter. We will sure miss them. Its been like having a small wildlife zoo this year and what an experience watching the babies grow up and now be on their own. Sometimes when life is down you can still look up at the wonders of the world that most people don't see because they are too busy. I find all our new experiences this year to be PRICELESS because sometimes you truly can't buy life.
