Now Playing: Day 799-The Final Road To Survival
Wow! we had been having some great weather and same with last night in the mid 70's "however" once I woke up this afternoon and let the dogs outside I just knew this was going to be a crazy day.
Maybe we can blame it on the full moon tomorrow night but today we can actually blame it on the extreme heat and humidity because people were acting all LOCO today. YIKES!!
I am so confused on which day we are on that it seems like Thursday but really its Monday. I also got another touch of reality when I went to fill the bird bath and got smacked in the face with the sun and heat. This isn't going to be a very nice summer for my GP or head issues/seizures. After being up for only three hours I was ready to take a nap. The heat-cold, heat-cold is exhausting so I will need to start spending more time indoors to keep my body moving so the GI pain doesn't get any worse. I do know of patients who end up spending most of the time laying around or sleeping due to sheer exhaustion and pain however with my unique Idiopathic Gastroparesis if I sit for too long at a time I only feel worse. Heaven forbid if I lay down flat because I might as well make my bed at the local ER. Its such a strange condition-Gastroparesis and even more strange the way patients must live their life on a daily basis.
Speaking of strange....
Once I let the fur kids in from the backyard five minutes later I heard Eric whisper, "Hey, come here real quietly!" As I came into the dining room I saw what appeared to be a large mountain lion or goat standing on top of the glass dining room table. What I quickly realized after taking a double look was Littleblue standing on top of the dining room table eating the rest of the cats can food. SAYYYYYYYYYY WHAT?!!!!!! Yes. It took me 10 second after picking up my jaw off the floor to ask her what the heck she was doing or more like thinking. WOW! This is a priceless photo and for those who ask, "Is she part Wolf?" I tend to think maybe "Yes" because its far from a small jump to get onto the table. I honestly didn't believe Eric the other day when he put the trash outside then came back into the house only to be greeted by Littleblue standing on top of the dining room table.
Blame it on the extreme temperature changes or maybe even the upcoming full moon since she really might be part Wolf-Werewolf that is! Hahahahaha...
I am used to summertime and dealing with the crazies out in the public. I worked for almost 15 years as a Division Team Leader being around cranky summer folks. One gets used to it and also learning how to use the ignore button. Eric on the other hand isn't quite so used to dealing with cranky summer folks. We ventured out to do some errands today and found ourselves dealing with people blaring horns at each other, mad drivers on the road and worse a cashier who literally bit our heads off because we had 24 items instead of the 20 at the register.
OH YES. It gets better...
Once we got up to the line and placed our items down I told Eric, "We might be a little over 20 items but there isn't anyone else in line at the other registers so we should be ok." What I didn't expect was one cranky person behind the register who must had a bad day due to the heat coming into the front doors because she quickly said, "Is this two separate orders?" Eric said, "No, its all one." She then said, "Well, this is a 20 item maximum check out." We both were shocked seeing she didn't say it nicely nor was there anyone else in line so I assume maybe lifting an additional 4-5 items wouldn't be too much work. Hmmmm?....I just said, "I noticed once we got up in line but there is no one else here so I thought it would still be ok." I got a few words mumbled back from her then a nasty look. Instead of reacting and getting mad which most people in this city during the hot/humid months of summer want you to do I instead replied by saying, "I guess the 20 item max police should arrest me then we can call it a day." Hee,hee,hee,hee...You sometimes have to make light of bad situations and this was clearly one of those moments. I began to think about a show I watched on TV last night where the couple said living in Las Vegas was very different from where they used to live because people were more laid back, didn't start trouble and kept to themselves. I told Eric out loud about it then said, "Surely I am in the wrong state because people are mean here."
Let's just say the rest of our check out experience was sugar, spice and everything nice!
Once we finished up our errands we came back home only to see one of our neighbors must had some crazy people of their own they dealt with today as they were patching their front lawn. It must had been the heat that caused the individual to "OOPSIE" miss the road and instead drive into their grass. Even Mr. Groundhog must had been in a heat daze as I went outside in the backyard to turn off the hose only to be greeted by him walking right up to me, stopped, looked, then slowly walked his way under the wood boards where the gutters are being replaced. WOW! I sure wish I had enough time to take a photo because that is a first coming that close to a Groundhog and especially during the day.
If today is any inkling how the rest of the week and the beginning of summer will be starting then maybe I will be safer staying indoors. Hahahaha! Eric said, "Ditto for him too!"
