The Road Before & After Surgery
November 11, 2011
11-11-11/Day Of The B&B Spirits *:0)
Mood:  celebratory
Now Playing: Day 574-The Final Road To Survival

It's 11-11-11 and to some like myself its the day of the Angels. Also a day when good things happen to everyone. POSITIVE things and surely we can all use a bit of good in our lives, AMEN! Its also a continuation of my birthday weekend celebration. Yes, this year it will go all weekend with each day bringing something new then finishing out at home with a huge jug of liquid courage AKA DranoDynamite, hahahahaha!

Me and my friend set our cell phone alarms for 11:30am this way we had plenty of time to do a few things around the house and take our time getting ready before heading out the door. My GP lets me know when its 'safe' to head out the door on any small road trip but one has to pack prepared. I made sure not to forget anything seeing today we had reservations to say at a haunted B&B-bed and breakfast. OK. So it wasn't listed as haunted although if you research the mansion built in 1874 it comes up with nothing but haunted stories. Honestly things like that don't both this gal because I have seen my own fair share of the supernatural as well spiritual world. Do I believe in ghosts? Why yes but I like to refer to them as the spirts of loved one who have departed and today they were more than ready to show us their energy. We made sure to pack anything needed just in case my GP took a nasty turn but also not to forget the sound machine, heating pad, puke bags-UGGG, nausea medication, pain medication, BP cuff, etc. You would think I had my own portable hospital with me right? Right! Hahahaha! No one ever said taking a trip and bringing your Gastroparesis along was easy because it wasn't.

At 2:30pm we headed down the road. I called my parents to see if they could come over later in the evening to let the dogs outside and make sure the animal gang had plenty of food and water. My friend Kevin was nice enough to call around ten minutes after being on the road to let us know about a wreck that had two interstates shut down so NOT a good way to start a trip so lucky I was able to take a different way around the backed up traffic to Indiana. We thought everything was going fine and we were making good timing until of course we hit highway construction and a traffic mess for honestly no good reason. Why in the world when they are only working on one section of the road must they shut down one lane when there clearly isn't any work being done? GEES! Call it, "my pet peeve" and quite annoying. Since we took my Hummer it was tempting to just make my own lane but since I am now in my 40's I vow to be a bit softer now and not panic or be bitter. Road bitter included! Hahahaha!

We arrived at the mansion around 5:30pm. My back was locked up and my intestines were angry from a 1.5 hour trip that turned into a 3 hour drive from you know where. It was already a testing time for my new birthday resolutions but the old me would had turned around on the expressway already and headed home but the new me said, "NOWAY! If I have to crawl to the mansion I am going!" So after taking around ten minutes to peel my back off the car seat we headed up to the mansion front entrance. It was HUGE! Once you walked inside it felt as if you stepped back into the late 1800's. It was decorated with old antique furniture, restored doors, woodwork, windows and photos of the Schneck family who built the mansion over one hundred and thirty seven years ago.

Talking about a bit EERIE!

Nothing quite like photos of the family looking at back at you while walking through the 35 room mansion. It didn't bother me at first until the owner had to show me how to work the multiple fireplaces in the three room suite we were staying in. YIKES! It was the only room that had photos of Mr. and Mrs. Schneck as well some of their children. Not only was this the room of the couple who once lived there but according to first hand accounts of the new owner and many, many guests the families spirits still remain in the mansion. Just last night the owner told us a couple was staying in the exact same room and the husband was sitting on the edge of the bed as a cold sensation ran up his arm and he couldn't move so he grabbed his camera to take a photo of this huge white shadow glimmering over him. It was the image of an Angel caught on camera. It was at midnight this morning 11-11-11.

Need I say more?

Of course with this being a bed and breakfast one would surely think there would be plenty of food around but the only thing we all could find was some store bought chocolate chip cookies and left over Halloween candy. So maybe this B&B isn't known for food but instead hauntings because it had plenty of the latter to share! I was smart and brought all my liquids with me but my friend was beyond hungry and everyone else was too so once everyone made their way to grab a bite to eat at only two restaurants that were around this small town we headed back to the mansion. By the time we got back it was dark and talking about an eerie feeling pulling up to the top the hill! I started approaching the driveway only to be greeted instead by several deer looking into my headlights! WHEW! talking about lucky by driving super slow! Last thing I need is to hit a deer or any other wildlife animal. That would had ruined my trip and then some!

Once we got back to the suite we quickly placed our belongings down and headed out to do some sight seeing and visit the other rooms in the mansion. Another group of people were also doing the same thing as they told us about the old underground tunnels in the basement. We had a story of our own about the attic known as the "Widow's Window." There wasn't anything more bone chilling though than the basement tunnels. Not only did four of us go down there around midnight but one of us had a camera which caught images of orbs then two distinct faces of a little boy and girl smiling with laughter. I don't get too spooked very often but looking at the very clear images surely we weren't alone in the basement. In one section of a tunnel was a box of very old report cards dated back to 1920 along with a very old vase and a few toy balls. I gently kicked one ball into a corner of another tunnel only to come back and find it right back in the same place before kicking it. This wasn't the only proof of spirits playing with us because another person took a small red ball and was followed by orbs on a camera taken five seconds within each frame showing someone or something following him with the ball as if to say, "Let's play!" The upstairs area in the attic which was next to our suite was where the owners wife back in the day would look outside the small circular windows to see if she could see the smoke stakes from her husbands steamboat coming down the river. The presence of someone was very apparent as well footsteps that could not be explained that continued later in the evening in our suite. I was doing good until I got an overwhelming feeling once everyone said goodnight and headed back into their rooms. I didn't want to say anything to anyone but I did tell my friend it felt as if someone or a few others were in the room with us. It felt like a presence of children.

Hmmmmmm.........

We had a video camera I brought with me so I could video tape the mansion to show my parents. I only got less than a hour of video and not because I ran out of tape. Around 1am things got more active. It wasn't my GP to say the least but others as well in the mansion were experiencing things that really couldn't be explained except by photos and video. By 2am after not only myself but my friend started seeing shadows and feeling extreme changes in temperature within the room followed by footsteps it was clear to me whomever was in that room wasn't going anywhere and they weren't going to allow anyone to get any sleep either. They had a huge sofa couch for me to sleep on but I didn't even make it that far, hahahaha! We made it far enough to pack our stuff up ASAP and quickly head down the steps, out the door and outta there! Hahahaha!

We didn't laugh on the way out nor as I took my time packing things up but I couldn't help but chuckle because there was enough friendly spirit things going on that freaked my friend OUT! It wasn't a bad feeling but fun and playful. I assume it was the same children as the faces we seen in the basement and who knows? They might had followed us up the steps back into the suite since this was after all their parents bedroom. What I do know is we were all not alone in actually witnessing the supernatural and being blessed by feeling the energy of spirits. Those who have passed on but still want to be remembered and never forgotten. I was always a believer but there were many tonight who weren't but are now convinced.

Overall it was a once in a lifetime experience at the Schneck mansion bed & breakfast. I think they need to call it the "Haunted S/B&B because only a few would make it the next day at the table for breakfast, hahahahaha!
